Daddy, Where are you???

I’m not sure if I should put this here so please bear with me.At present, I am already 27 years old. I was told that the last time I met my father was when I was only 1 year old. That means that I don’t have any memory of my father. I don’t know how he looks like nor do I remember any moments when we were together. All I know about him is his name. I don’t even know his birthday. Nor do I even know if he is still alive. Relatives think that he is now in Negros Oriental. Where exactly? We don’t know.

Once I was asked, “What would you do if you meet your father?” and all I can say was, “I don’t know. I really don’t know.” More likely, I’ll burst in tears as I am a person who easily cries.

So, why am I posting this? Perhaps, just perhaps, someone visiting my blog and reads this knows my father. Maybe, you know him. His name is Roque Lopez, Jr., a Cebuano and that’s all I know. If you happen to know a man with this name, then please, I beg you, please tell me by writing an email to lookingfordaddy@mikelopez.info. I will be very grateful if you do. Also, please help me pray for this.

One last thing, I will also be very happy if you can tell your friends about this request. Please tell them to visit:

Some of you may think that I’m simply looking for traffic to my site but that’s beside the point. For now, all I desire is to see my dad, give him a tight hug, kiss him, and cry on his shoulders. After that, we can exchange stories and enjoy the presence of each other.

Thanks and God bless you all.

Sincerely,

Mike Lopez

Stress Test

On the lighter side, time for a stress test…

READ THE INFORMATION BELOW FIRST AND THEN VIEW THE PHOTOGRAPH

I’m not sure exactly how it works, but this is amazingly accurate. The attached photo has 2 almost identical dolphins in it. It was recently used in a case study on the stress levels of employees at the UCLA Medical Center.

Look at these two dolphins jumping out of the water. The dolphins are identical. A closely monitored, scientific study of a group revealed that in spite of the fact that the dolphins are identical, a person under stress would find differences in the two dolphins. If there are many differences found between both dolphins, it means that the person is experiencing a great deal of stress.

Look at the photograph below and if you find more than one or two differences you may want to take a vacation.

It’s been quite a while (again) since I last posted something here. Quite busy doing stuff. Fixing websites, debugging, editing photos, etc. etc. etc. Of course, I will not forget the time I spend in serving the Lord. In fact, I find myself to be more busy doing “Godly” things than secular stuff. Why? Well, let’s just call it priority.

I surfed for a while today - visited Benj’s and Marcia’s Blog and wow, all I can say is that they do update their blogs. :D Also visited some NASA websites, searched Google, did the regular mail checking stuff and went back to work in front of my PC. When some of you may find this boring, I find it exciting simply because I do all things for my Creator. That’s something that I really love.

Then about family. I’m so happy and blessed because I find my family more peaceful and happier nowadays. Evelyn and I no longer fight too much - meaning no shouting. We have discussions but we have learned to stay quiet and listen than to keep on talking. We learned to pray than to brag about what we do. We learned to give praises to each other than to peep at each other’s mistakes. Indeed, that’s something to be happy about. Kei and Vhi still fight but this time, they are learning to handle things themselves. That’s nice because that means less “problem-solving” for us as they already solve their problems themselves - at least in moments when they can do it. I see them grow and I’m so happy for them.

That’s all I can say for now….. Ciao.

My girl is growing older and older everyday. Before, we just used to see Kei as our “baby” but now she’s joining interschool beauty pageants at her young age of 5. We are so blessed to have a daughter like her because she’s not only intellectually bright but also a beauty. May God bless her as she grows.

I will not say much about this but I will let the pictures speak for themselves. You will find Kei’s webalbum at http://www.keilopez.info/. Visit it and see for yourselves.

After all these years of hoping to get a CD-Writer, I finally decided to get one. After all, it’s not luxury but a need. With my type of work, a CD-Writer would help a lot. I bought an LG Combo Drive (Model: RW/DVD GCC-4521B).

I started out by trying to make an Audio CD out of three wav files that my sister-in-law has. The Writer worked well but with Linux, things gets done differently. Windows applications such as NERO tend to make things easier. With Linux, the best way is to do it via the console (command line) and pass all that options to the console application (cdrecord). I wasted 2 CDs at first. Why? Hard to explain but now I know so I can no longer be fooled in making Audio CDs. Next, I will try to create a VCD out of a collection of AVI files that I have. :D Data CDs I assume won’t be a hassle.

So what? Nothing, I just want to tell you all…. After all, this is a blog ain’t it? He he he.
