My first CD-Writing on my own PC
After all these years of hoping to get a CD-Writer, I finally decided to get one. After all, it’s not luxury but a need. With my type of work, a CD-Writer would help a lot. I bought an LG Combo Drive (Model: RW/DVD GCC-4521B).
I started out by trying to make an Audio CD out of three wav files that my sister-in-law has. The Writer worked well but with Linux, things gets done differently. Windows applications such as NERO tend to make things easier. With Linux, the best way is to do it via the console (command line) and pass all that options to the console application (cdrecord). I wasted 2 CDs at first. Why? Hard to explain but now I know so I can no longer be fooled in making Audio CDs. Next, I will try to create a VCD out of a collection of AVI files that I have.
Data CDs I assume won’t be a hassle.
So what? Nothing, I just want to tell you all…. After all, this is a blog ain’t it? He he he.
