I had this feeling of the need to put something on my blog for the past couple of weeks. However, when I am on the process of doing so, my brain just won’t work. I have lots of things that I want to write but it seems that somehow, I don’t know how or where to start. So here am I right now, typing away whatever comes into my mind.
So what happened lately? Well, I was working on a couple of websites - Funtastic and Inteco both of which are already overdue. Funtastic is finished as far as I see it but it seems that the client wants more…. :D. As for Inteco, well, it is now almost done. Just have to refine the Content Management System and create a training manual and that’s it.
Add to that a few more fixing of other websites such as Gourmet, Assetphil, and Ringservices. Ahhhh, sometimes little changes requested by clients become huge headaches when they pile up.
So what? Most of the time these past few weeks, I just sit in front of my PC and feel so empty - I don’t seem to know what to do. I hope to get out of this eerie situation soon.
God bless you all.

After a day of doing the regular stuff like programming, fixing websites, making website updates, and of course my favorite - bible study and attending the our church’s midweek service, I decided to write this blog. Why? Well, to blog. That’s what this entire blog is here for right? So what can I say. Just a few things.
- I found a new and great way to study the bible on my computer. It didn’t too much time for me to discover that KDE (The K Desktop Environment for Linux) also has a bible program. Something that gets downloaded in a few minutes. (In Xandros Linux, it’s as simple as typing “apt-get install bibletime” in console). I checked it out, used it and honestly I enjoy it. It’s called BibleTime (www.bibletime.info) and it’s cool. It has Lexicons, Devotionals and Bible translations in English, Hebrew, Latin, Greek, and even other languages around the world. I’m happy about BibleTime because one of my problems to convincing churches here in the Philippines - who sad to say are using pirated software - to switch to Linux is finding a Bible Program for them to use and now I’ve found one! That’s one BIG PRAISE THE LORD!
- Our church will finally have an afternoon service starting at 3:00 in the afternoon this coming Sunday. Why am I happy about this? I’m happy because I am among the few advocates in our church who proposed for an afternoon service for the sake of those who are still “young in their faith.” Creating a separate worship service for them will easily allow them to grow their skills and talents for the Lord since they don’t have to rely on “older” church members.
- Now about technology. I’ve seen this short science fiction story (takes about 15 minutes to read) which I find really interesting. It speaks of using cables to boost satellites and other cargo into higher space orbit. Also, it uses this same “cable” system to maintain the orbit of a space station without having to use a single drop of fuel. If you are interested in things like this, then go and read it “Tank Farm Dynamo” (http://www.davidbrin.com/tankfarm1.html).
- What else? Oh of course. I also got annoyed last Friday (November 5), when I missed to see the Venus-Jupiter conjunction. I woke up early at 4:00am (which honestly is hard for me to do) only to see a cloud-covered sky. No stars, no Venus, no Jupiter until the morning. Imagine how frustrated I was. I missed a few more hours of good sleep and happy dreams.
- Anything else? Ahhhh, I’m not supposed to be in front of my computer now because I am supposed to be out of town (me and Evelyn). We should be at this very moment travelling to Albay but things schedules change. So no Albay (no Mayon Volcano) for now.
- Here’s one more thing, my sister-in-law Elaine just started her own blog. Visit it at www.elainenolasco.info.
- Now, let’s talk about family. We’ve been in some trials lately but God is faithful. He proved that His words are true as spoken by Apostle Paul - “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” - 1 Corinthians 10:13.In this verse, I found three important truths which are obvious.
- All temptations we experience is common to man. Thus we can say that we are not alone in experiencing whatever temptation or trial we are into right now.
- God is faithful that He will not allow us to be tempted above that which we can bear.
- And even in the event of trials and temptations, it is also God who makes a way of escape so we can bear it.
See how good God is?
- Wife and I - God willing - will be having a date this coming Thursday!!! Ahhh, all couples need it.
- Kei and Vhi - our two lovely daughters, are starting to gain interest in God and the bible. Kei is now learning to read and one of the books that she likes to read is the Bible especially Ephesians 6:1 which says “Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right”. Oh how I love to hear her to read that verse.Vhi, on the other hand, always wants to come with us to church even in “small” meetings where she usually stays at home. When we ask her why she wants to come with us, she simply answers, “mag-ba-bible study ako” (I will join the bible study). Doesn’t matter if she understands, my joy here is in her interest.
- Finally No. 10! God has been totally gracious and generous in providing us our needs. Furthermore, He has been faithful in fulfilling His promises to me and my family - that we will continue to be one happy family for as long as we serve Him with all our heart.
So dear friends, if you pray, please include us in your prayers. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

As of this writing, I am currently on a one-day duty at Funtastic Stuff who is a client of my friend Benj Arriola. I designed some of its backend and is now doing my best to put their pictures online - 302 of them all. Putting up the pics is easy, the difficult part is matching which photo to which product code. Anyway, that’s work and that’s why it’s called work.
So while uploading any waiting for thing sto come up better, I decided to type this blog.
So, what is it like here? To my right is the muffled sound of a radio playing pop music. A few meters to my front, you can here the sound of a dot-matrix printer (more likely an EPSON printer). It goes, eeeennnggg, eeeennnggg, eeeennnggg….. and so on. It’s been like that for almost 2 hours now. I also noticed that all workers inside the office are females. The only man I see is Rex. Occassionally, delivery people will come in and out but that’s it.
So, is it boring? Not quite. I’m not the type of person who gets bored when there’s a computer in front of me.
Ha ha ha. But I feel the place is relatively quiet and is very conducive for work. I hope to finish my work early so I can go home early. After all, that’s what everyone else is looking forward to - home.
So OK… That’s it for now. The next thing you know is that I’m back home in Bulacan.
