My neighbor has lost her puppy and is desperate in finding him. She does a lot of travelling and always brings her dog with her. Yesterday, she was sitting on the couch watching TV when she realized she hasn’t seen her pup in a while and can’t even begin to think when or where she last saw him. She has been putting up signs everywhere If you have seen this dog, please let me know and I will notify her. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
The reason why I switched from Digitel DSL to Smart Wifi is because Digitel can be down for as long as 4 days at times. My switch to Smart Wifi was smooth and lovely. The speed is slower compared to Digitel but acceptable back then - yes BACK THEN.
Now, months after my first day on Smart Wifi, the speed has been agonizingly slow. And at times, almost nothing. I don’t understand why this happens. One moment, it’s fast, and another moment it doesn’t work at all. It’s just so unstable! And now, what do I do? For now, nothing. For now, all I can do is hope that the service of Smart Wifi will get better.
Calling Smart Wifi and Meridian Telekoms!!!!! Please make our connection speed faster! At the time of this writing, it’s slower than dial-up! Sometimes taking upto 3 minutes just to load google!
Now that I have successfully migrated my posts from blogger and joomla, my next big problem was recategorizing them. Instead of going through each post and deciding what category to put it in, I thought of quick and dirty way to do it. It’s not efficient and I’m pretty sure it will not correctly categorize all of the articles but it does the job quick. What I did was execute a series of mysql queries in the following form:
INSERT INTO wp_post2cat SELECT ”,ID,{category_id_here} FROM wp_posts WHERE post_content LIKE ‘%keyword_here%’ OR post_title LIKE ‘%keyword_here%’;
- Replace {category_id_here} with the proper category_id
- Replace keyword_here with the correct keyword
Actual example is (category_id #3 is for Programming):
INSERT INTO wp_post2cat SELECT ”,ID,3 FROM wp_posts WHERE post_content LIKE ‘%mysql%’ OR post_title LIKE ‘%mysql%’;
So, I simply ran a series of those statements above for each category I have and for each keyword I could think of that would match my categories.
Did I achieve my goal? Pretty well. But of course, you might still see some misplaced articles in this website so if you find an article which you think should be placed in some other category, kindly post a comment and I will gladly move it.
Are you thinking of ways on how to treat your girl this Valentine’s day? Well, here’s a few of the things that you can do:
- Buy her three white roses
- Buy her a box of chocolates
- Buy her a teddy bear
- Write her a poem or a sing her a song
- Send her a short love note
- Take her to a stroll outside of town
- Hold her hand gently, look her in the eyes, and tell her how beautiful she is
- Cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner - don’t forget to wash the dishes too!
- If you’re good at jokes, make her laugh all day
- Lastly, touch her face gently, stroke her hair, and kiss her passioniately in the lips.
Well, that’s all I can think of. You can do all of them or choose a few but one thing is important, whatever you decide to do, be sure to do it from the bottom of your heart.

It’s time to take a bath!!!

I hate it when those spambots try to post their spam on my blog. I hate it so much that if I caught one of these spammers, I will definitely bash their heads against the wall. Ok, maybe not kill them but I will definitely make them suffer. Spam nowadays is like a plague, it’s everywhere. In emails, newsgroups, bulletin boards, wikis, and blog comments. So I tried to ask around for a solution to prevent spamming on my new and shiny blog. Again, Benj Arriola - came to the rescue. One of his blogs (yes Benj maintains more than one blog) pointed me to this blog which makes available a wordpress captcha plugin for download. I installed the plugin and came across another problem - my server’s PHP is not compiled with TTF rendering for GD which is required by the captcha plugin so I have to re-compile PHP to support it.
Compiling is almost done at this point and so by the time that you visit this site, you will be asked to enter a series of letters before you can actually make your post.
So, what’s this series of letters all about? Well, it’s based on the fact that spambots are just programs written by dedicated spammers. And since they are just programs, they can’t read. So the series of letters printed on a graphic will actually prevent these spambots from posting their ’spam comments’ here.
Goodbye spambots!
Well, ain’t it true that all people have things to do and deadlines to meet? I say yes and I’m one of ‘em. Now here’s a quick list of the things that I hope I will be able to accomplish:
- Fix bugs assigned to me in DWC
- Fix the payment problems which I myself caused in DWC
- Update my web hosting website
- Include AdSense in this blog after Google approves my AdSense application
- Watch AeonFlux on February 15.
Now, it’s time to get back to work.
I was reviewing the new look of my site and found out that many photos were lost due to the migration from Joomla to WordPress. The loss was due to the {mosimage} mambots that I used in Joomla. I knew back then that I should have used the
tags instead of {mosimage} but well, what’s gone is gone and I don’t feel like exerting more effort trying to restore them.
Also, I noticed that the photos that I used to have on spymac.com are now lost and gone.
So, if you see a caption referring to a photo and you don’t see any, then I’m sorry, it’s simply gone. From now on, I will put photos on my own server and use hardcode
to put them in my posts.
Now where did I put that cute photo of mine…
Well, WordPress doesn’t seem to be difficult to learn after all - or maybe I’m just smarter than I thought. Well, either way, I find WordPress to be a cool tool for blogging. Simple, easy, and straight to the point. Not much “Mambo” Jumbo stuff. Hehehe.
In fairness, I think Mambo and Joomla are great CMS tools but are simply too overloaded for blogging purposes. I will still use them for creating websites fast.
