Brain Drain

As a blogger and as someone who takes blogging seriously and not just as an online diary where one can ramble and ramble, it is common for me to experience what I would call a ‘brain drain’ - that is, a period where I simply can’t think of anything to write.  Funny part is that there are lots of things to talk about and yet during these brain drain moments, it seems that I can’t think of where to start.

What causes brain drain?  I believe that a combination of different factors can result to this unlikely phenomenon.  I usually experience brain drain when I have

  • Too many things to do
  • Nothing to do at all
  • Too much stress / pressure
  • Too much rest
  • Too much work
  • Too much play

You may note the extremities between factors.  Based on my personal observation, it is during these times of abnormal mental activity that I experience brain drain.

What about you?  When do you experience brain drain?
