Looking for a cheap laptop to buy
It’s been almost 2 years since I first bought a used Dell Latitude C600 which I use in my everyday work - yes, I’m even using it at this very moment while writing this blog post. I bought it for $600 back then and nowadays, it’s at least $100 cheaper.
Through all my usage, I have to say that the Dell Latitude C600 is a good laptop to work on. Though now my battery is already broken, one of laptop’s hinges is ruined, and the ‘menu key’ & ‘pencil eraser’ are detached, it still works fine. I installed Linux on it but it originally came with Windows 2000 pre-installed. The major disadvantage of buying used laptops though is that they’re - well - used. Used means it breaks easier and you have no idea how the previous owner handled it. You may not see any problems at first but you can never tell.
My new goal is go get a brand new but cheap laptop. Though a cheap brand new laptop can never be as cheap as a used laptop, I’m still willing to pay the higher price since I will be getting everything ‘clean and new’ without me having to worry about the handling of some previous owner. Of course, there’s also the warranty that comes with brand new products. I’m looking into something like this cool looking ASUS notebook.
Now, all I have to do is raise the money I need to buy this laptop or something better.
